Our Planet

The United States alone uses over 100 billion plastic bags per year, with the average American going through six shopping bags per week. If every person in New York City were to use one less grocery bag, it would cut 5 million pounds of waste and save $250,000 in disposal costs. The price of this tremendous amount of plastic waste is paid by our environment as well as all who inhabit it. Millions of animals die each year from ingesting or becoming trapped in plastic bags and and those numbers are only increasing. One person using reusable bags over the course of their lifetime would remove more than 22,000 plastic bags from our environment. If we can inspire and provide the means for one person to accept that challenge and be the change then our mission is complete.
